About Me

People say I'm:

Depending on who you talk to, you might hear about how good I am with the kids at school, how outspoken I am about volunteering, or how I will try to do the best I can at all that I do. You may also hear about my lazy streak and how I hate cooking for picky eaters. Or you might hear how I spend countless hours sitting in front of the computer pouring my heart out into my work. You might even hear about how many hours I sit in front of the television with a crochet hook and a box of yarn. If you ask my husband, he may tell you that I'm too much of a packrat. My kids will tell you that I'm demanding of them to do their best. So, what you hear will depend on the person you are listening to speak or read what they type.
Describe Yourself:

I'm as old as dirt and as big as the broad side of the barn. I'm a little shy but you may not realize that because I spend so much time speaking honestly from my heart. I cry when I hear of someone hurt or having problems, even if it is just a movie. I tend to think of myself as simply a dedicated mom, wife, volunteer, and teacher that enjoys spending probably too many hours writing. Hey, a girl has to have fun even if she does have grandkids already.

On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:

I want to share my writing and network with others to gain insight to new topics and new ideas. If we stop learning and trying to understand others, then we have given up on life and are merely surviving.

Interests

Favorite Music, Artists, Genres:

I'm a country girl, so country music is my favorite. I also listen to a wide variety of other music as I tend to be around a wide variety of people. Some I even like.
Favorite Books, Writers, Genres:

I read a lot of children's books. Hey, I'm a teacher, what do you expect? Plus, they are really good! If you need an introducation, check out Barb Huff. I enjoy reading her young adult series., I also enjoy reading a light romance. Shirley Jump writes some very good ones.
Favorite Movies, Actors, Genres:

I enjoy crime dramas, action, some comedy, and of course the chick flicks.
Favorite TV Shows, Actors:

In Plain Sight, Bones, House, Law and Order, anything with Paula Deen in it, and shows on decorating and cleaning. I also watch sewing and cooking shows.
Favorite Places:

I love the mountains!
Interests and Activities:

I crochet, sew, learn, and teach. I am working on organization and bulk cooking projects.
Wish List:

My wish list includes a regular teaching job, going to the gym on a regular basis, quit being such a packrat, becoming a better cook, and a week to spend with my husband, kids, and grandkids.
